An hour and a half drive from Melbourne, Heathcote is nestled between Bendigo, Macedon Ranges and the Goulburn Valley. It sits at between 160m and 320m above sea level and the region’s rainfall is evenly distributed between the seasons and temperature range is defined as temperate which makes for an outstanding wine producing area. It has over 70 vineyards and wineries and is renowned for its intensely flavoured reds, most notably its premium quality Shiraz. However, the ancient red soils of Heathcote are also having success with Cabernet Sauvignon, some Italian & Spanish red varieties along with Riesling & Viognier.
