The Central Victoria Zone is on the inland, or northern, foothills of the Great Dividing Range and is comprised of several regions and subregions; including Heathcote, Bendigo, Goulburn Valley and Strathbogie Ranges. The diversity of landscapes in these regions, varying from vast plains, slightly elevated terrains and slopes of mountains, allows the production of a range of wine styles. Heathcote, Bendigo and Goulburn Valley are known for their reds, and the cool climate of the Strathbogie Ranges and also Goulburn Valley are producing excellent white varieties. Some of the most well-known wine producers in the Australian wine industry come from these regions, which make it’s a popular destination for all wine lovers.
