Fenian Wines Pinot Noir 2018

Quick Overview

FREE DELIVERY AUSTRALIA WIDE. Bouquet of strawberry leading to raspberries, along with a back ground of fruit of the forest, rather than the dirty first floor often associated with Pinot Noir. The palate offers vibrant red berry flavors, that will build in the mid palate over time, the finish a mix of cherry and plum and is generous and persistent.

Lightly coloured, this wine proves colour in Pinot Noir is not as important as other wines. There is a power to this wine. The colour is more a deep Rose.

With its wonderful balance, this is a food matching joy. Antipasto through to roasts the acid and flavours will carry this wine with style and dignity, but its true match is lamb.

Will age, if you can avoid drinking it, for 8-12 years.

"Many of our processes are based on handcraft rather than mechanisation, minimising the use of pumps, ensuring gentle processes and conserving as much character and flavour as possible."

Fenian Wines is located on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, producing fine wines in small volume. We concentrate mainly on Estate grown Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay, what the Mornington Peninsula grows best! Fenian Wines are produced to allow full expression of the character of the variety.

Fenian/fi:nien/ umbrella term for the Fenian Brotherhood and Irish Republican Brotherhood (IRB) dedicated to the establishment of an independent Irish Republic in 19th and 20th centuries.

The Fenian label was born in 2012 with the first commercial release from winemaker Eammon (Ed) Donnelly. What started out as a hobby, soon became a passion, and the desire to learn more, took Ed to Charles Sturt University to complete his Associate Degree in Winegrowing in 2004.

For a number of years, Ed made small quantities of wine from grapes sourced from local vineyards on the Mornington Peninsula, using different varietals and slowly increasing the volume every year. Ed worked many vintages on the Peninsula with T’Gallant and Red Hill Estate and also a vintage at Hugel in Alsace, France. 2016 marked the start of an exciting new chapter with Fenian Wines now operating on a 6 acre vineyard in Red Hill with cellar door and winery.

Fenian wines are made using grapes sourced from a small vineyard in Dunns Creek Rd., Red Hill. Ed’s philosophy of winemaking is a belief that quality starts in the vineyard. Getting the ideal fruit and then  ensuring the winemaking process is expressing the best out of that fruit.

Many of our processes are based on handcraft rather than mechanisation, minimising the use of pumps, ensuring gentle processes and conserving as much character and flavour as possible.

Our cellar door, vineyard and winery are located at 295 Dunns Creek Rd, Red Hill.

We are open for tastings 11am to 5pm first weekend of each month and public holiday long weekends or by appointment.
