What is Direct to Consumer and how is this beneficial?
DTC means the producer sells direct to the customer without the use of intermediaries. This means you pay the winery directly and the wine is shipped from the winery to you. Reducing the amount of hands involved means the winery gets the profit they deserve. Direct payment helps the cashflow for small businesses as they do not have to wait for payment and get a greater return on their product.
How do you support boutique wineries?
It is common practice for wineries to reduce their pricing to sell through various distribution channels and after years of hard work, they receive only a small amount off the sale. We are not price driven and completely support our wine partners to sell at the price their wine is worth. We also promote our members visiting their cellar doors to experience the wine in person. Nothing makes us happier than our wine partners selling directly through their own cellar door.
Why should I buy from you?
We provide you with access to amazing handcrafted wine, that is often only available through cellar doors. By buying through CDS, you are supporting family owned and operated boutique wineries.
What is the cost of shipping?
We charge $15 for deliveries Australia wide. Because your wine comes directly from the winery we charge $15 per winery you order from.
Can you send wine overseas?
Currently we are not shipping overseas. We will look to provide this service in the future.
What are your delivery times?
Please allow 7 days however most of our deliveries are fulfilled, dispatched and delivered in 3-4 days. Due to your wine coming direct from the winery, sometime this might take a little
bit longer than from a warehouse in a capital city. Please bear in mind by supporting this model you are supporting family owned and local businesses.
Can you leave my wine at the front door if I’m not home?
A signature is required on all deliveries. If you are not available at the time of delivery the courier will leave a card for later collection by you from the nearest local Australia Post Office
or Fastway delivery centre. The person collecting the wines from the Collection point must be 18 or over and able to present identification corresponding to the name of the consignee.
I missed my delivery from Fastway, can I arrange a re-delivery or where can I pick it up from?
Yes, Fastway will re-deliver to the original address free of charge. Simply visit their website and enter your tracking number to arrange. If you will not be home to sign a second time,
you can pick it up from the location provided by Fastway using the same tracking number. To avoid any confusion, we send you a shipment update following your order which provides these
I missed my delivery from Australia Post, can I arrange a re-delivery or where can I pick it up from?
Australia Post will not deliver a second time, however you can track your delivery using the tracking number and re-direct free of charge to a new address where someone can sign.
Otherwise, they will will leave a card notifying you which Australia Post you can pick it up from.
What happens if I order wine from multiple wineries?
Delivery fees are charged per winery. If you order wine from multiple wineries, you will be charged a shipping cost from each winery.
Postcodes we don’t ship to?
We do not deliver wine to dry areas of Australia.
Can I track my order?
Yes, you will receive a tracking number on your final order form, once the order has been shipped.
Can I choose after-hours delivery?
Unfortunately not. However, this is a service we are looking to implement in the future.
How can I change my contact details?
To change your information you can log in as either a Buyer or Seller and do this via your admin console. The easiest way to log in is to choose either “BUY WINE” or “SELL WINE” on the upper menu in the top right corner of any page.
Can I change my address after I have ordered?
This may not be possible if the order has already been fulfilled and/or shipped. However you are welcome to contact us at [email protected] and we will try and assist you in conjunction with the winery you ordered the wine from.
I lost my password, how do I recover it?
If you have misplaced your password you can reset this in the same location where you log in to your account. Just click on “FORGOT YOUR PASSWORD?” and follow the prompts. If you have trouble with this please contact us via email and we can reset your password for you.
Can I have a selling account linked to a purchasing account?
Your email address can only be linked to either a selling account or a buying account. If you have both accounts, you will need to set these up with two different email addresses.
I know you are a direct to consumer model but can I order from multiple wineries?
Yes you can, however you will have to pay shipping costs for each winery. Unless they have a special deal or you have a coupon code.
As you are purchasing the wine directly from the winery, you have a sales agreement with them. You will find details in relation to each of the returns policies on the individual wineries page.
Can I see my previous orders?
Yes you can. Log into your account and go to the footer and select “My Account”. This will take you to your admin panel where you will be able to review your previous orders and wines you like.
Can I save and write notes about wines I like?
Yes you can. Once you’re logged into your account, you can select the love heart on any wine and this will save it into your Wishlist. You can view your Wishlist from the top of the page and also inside your Account and you can leave notes here. Items in your Wishlist will also be saved into the Compare List explained below.
Can I compare wines to help my decision and do I need an account to do so?
Yes you can compare as many wines as you like. Simply click on the wine, then select the graph icon which is located next to the love heart. You do not need an account to compare. If you do decide to make a purchase and don’t already have an account, once you add the items to cart, and proceed to check out, you can enter your details here which will automatically set you up with an account.
I have a voucher or a discount code, how can I use it?
Your discount code can be redeemed at the checkout.
