Mornington Peninsula is one of Victoria’s most popular wine regions and it’s easy to see why. Surrounded by Bass Strait, Port Phillip Bay and Western Port Bay, the Peninsula boasts stunning coastal views with no vineyard site being further than 7kms from the ocean. An excellent family friendly winery on the Mornington Peninsula is Dromana Estate. They have a casual and relaxed restaurant which serves yummy tapas and share plates. Great for the kids who can try a bit of everything! They have a fantastic cellar door overlooking the front yard - perfect to do a tasting while keeping an eye on the kids while they play on the grass. They also have a cool a little cubby house and play area nestled under a shady tree. This is in perfect viewing from the outdoor tables and chairs where you can enjoy a glass while still watching the kids.


Panton Vineyard is a lovely family owned and operated cellar door in Red Hill with stunning gardens, a spectacular view and delicious wine. The lush green grass overlooking the vineyard provides a great place for the kids to run around and play while you enjoy a glass of wine. Panton don’t have a restaurant, but they do have great platters. Bottle and glass prices are excellent value for the quality you receive and the service and view here are incredible.


Green Olive at Red Hill is a sustainable farm and has everything you need for a great day with the family. They grow olives, grapes, herbs and veggies and use these to produce amazing brunch and all-day farm tapas menu, including a kid’s menu. Green Olive have a huge trampoline perfect for entertaining the kids for hours and they can wander around the garden and the farm, enjoying the farm atmosphere. They also have a farm house to stay just a few minutes from the property.


One of Mornington Peninsula’s most iconic wineries Crittenden Estate is the perfect spot to spend the day. This family friendly winery offers a fantastic tasting experience – made even better by the kid packs the lovely staff provide the kids to keep them entertained while you enjoy their incredible wine. If you’re looking to enjoy some beautiful food, the onsite restaurant Stillwater at Crittenden offers stunning views of the property and is next to a huge lawn where the kids can play complimentary games like totem tennis, football and crickets. They have a beautiful lake for a family walk after lunch, and where the kids can feed the ducks.


Only an hour from Melbourne and 7 minutes from Mornington if you’re local, Barmah Park has everything you need for a fun family day or night out. Open 7 days for breakfast and lunch, and dinner Friday and Saturday night, their cellar door and restaurant have undergone a refurbishment, and not only do they look great, but the experience is too. There is a fantastic deck outside overlooking the vineyard, and a kid play area which keeps them entertained while you have a glass of wine on the deck. They also have a $10 kids’ menu which includes a complimentary ice cream at the end. With the offer of ice cream, what kid won’t behave!
